Best Approach to Replacing Voltage Regulator

On a 951, is it easier to go in from the top or from the bottom?

I'm trying to go in from the bottom, but it's hard to see with the AC compressor in the way...

Personally, I like to go in from the top, lol, here's a thread, but it may not be relevant to your turbo car.

voltage reg replacement (didn't fix the problem)

alternator replacement (rebuilt) now that fixed it

I couldn't find any way to get my hands in there to do it without removing the alternator, so I took the alternator out. The alternator comes out from the top - requires removal of the airbox and AFS and the intercooler hard pipe above the AFS.
