Free 944 parts - Calgary area
I am moving out of town soon, and I have some parts left over that are too nice to throw away, but not nice enough to bother shipping around for people.
I leave on friday morning, so anything that is going to go must leave by thursday afternoon, or else I will have it hauled away with a shell that is destined for the wreckers. On the list of what I have is....... A pair of burgundy seats from an '86 944. Non-sport, driver's has wear on the side bolster. The pair is dirty but otherwise okay. A burgundy dashboard, relatively cracked. 4 or 5 cracks that run the depth of the dash right beside the instrument cluster, and many small ones around the defrost vents. Perhaps a good dash to try recovering, or just to screw around with? Driver's side door from an 84 944. Painted an unusual color, but otherwise fine. Glass is available if you want it as well. Passenger side mirror from same car I have window motors, an early fuel rail, headlight buckets and some other bits. Also worth mentioning, I have a set of exhaust headers from an 86 944. They were cracked but I had them welded. They warped slightly when welding, and I had to enlarge one of the bolt holes. When installed they did not leak at all. *EDIT* I also have a box of pistons. Varied makes and models, some custom 16V turbo pistons, etc. No idea what they are from, and I don't care to keep them anymore. Also have 2-3 almost-if-not complete wiring harnesses. 1 from a 951 missing a TPS or AFM connector, 1 from a 944S, unknown what it is missing if anything, 1 from an early 944. All of the above is free for the taking, but the catch is I am not shipping any of it, and it must be gone by thursday. There are many other odds and ends, and if you come by to get something, feel free to poke around for something else. Now for the not-so-free: Early 944 alternator - worked when removed late 944 alternator - engine fire, but the plastic shroud wasn't melted.... unknown if it works for sure, but I suspect it does power steering rack - complete with tie rod ends, but I don't know if they are early or late offset tie rod ends. I suspect late. Leaks a little bit, but it is a really good rebuild candidate. 944S block and pistons - Paid $400 for this set, would like to make my money back Early 944 starter motor - worked when removed For the above, everything but the 944s block and pistons I am open to offers. If you are interested, either PM me or give me a call on my cell (403) 472-4762, my name is Chris. I have recently quit my job and am packing like crazy getting ready for a move. Please don't call me before 9AM, or after 10PM.

Haha, sorry....
I don't have time to ship anything, but if somebody local picked something up for you that would be just fine by me. I procrastinated really badly. I should have been smart and started this thread 2 weeks ago.

Nah, there's nothing specific I need. I would probably turn around and sell everything on eBay, to be honest.

Hey, Chris, where are you moving to? I drooled when I saw the post and then realized I have pretty much everything you're giving away! Drat. Don't suppose you've got a front and rear valance kicking around?
Good luck!

Kyle, let me know what you need. I may have it already. There's no way I could get to Calgary by Thursday - it's a 5-hour drive from here and I gotta work tomorrow. Today's Wednesday already. The issue would be finding a window of opportunity for me. But we'll see what Chris says.
Chris, which Thursday did you mean?

oh geeze, 5 hours... not to bother at all then... there's nothing i *need*, but would have liked a passenger window motor :P mine makes a really odd sound... actually, one that resembles the sound an old german man would make if he manually had to roll up/down the window....
...maybe there's a little old german man living in my door...

I'm moving to Vernon, BC. I bought a house out there. I feel old now. I'm 21, married, now own a house, giving away parts from cars I wanted to bring back to life.....
Everything that I have listed for free is getting junked tomorrow night. Everything listed for a small price is getting packed up and brought to BC with me. After I get there, give me a couple weeks and I'll be willing to sell/ship parts. As for front/rear valences.... no, sorry. I have 2 front bumpers and 2 rear bumpers, but no valences. I have a full set or two of bumper shocks, tail lights, A/C condensors, etc. I have a couple piles of parts as tall as I am.

Well, good news
![]() I guess we can call it good news. Everything got messed up, and I did not finish assembling my 951. This means that there was no room to get the shell out of the garage, and therefore no way to get all of these parts gone. So, I still have almost all of the above parts. We made a small run to the dump trying to help weed this stuff out. That said, I will be back in town sometime next week (the week of the 3rd). I'll post back on here with when I will be available and I'm sure we can work something out

You know I might be interested in the early 44 wiring harness for someone on here that could use it possibly. But I live very very far away. Someone near zero be willing to ship it to me if they are making a trip over there? I wouldn't have any idea what shipping costs on someone like that would be because I have never stripped a whole wiring harness out. How big of a box would that fit in anyways?
I'd throw in some extra for the trouble possibly to whomever could pick it up for me, but only if they were already on their way over there to get something for themselves. I wouldn't want anyone going out of their way, it's not a big deal for me to have it, it would probably just end up being an extra for me unless the person I know decides to redo their harness...

Oh and one moe thing, I am heading out to Revelstoke this weekend and I have a car trailer so if you want your shell hauled, I might be able to help out.

Nah, I just want it hauled away. It is fire damaged, and pretty much every panel has damage on it. The shell is worse than worthless since it is also branded non-repairable. If you want to take it in for scrap metal I'll even pay you to take it away
With all of the garbage parts in it and the trashed motor it's probably ~1500lbs.Definately willing to give you the seats. I am back in Calgary until wednesday afternoon (hopefully I will have my 951 running, and be driving back to Vernon mid-afternoon), and would be happy to meet up with you. I hate to throw anything away that I don't have to. Feel free to give me a shout on my cell (472-4762) and we'll sort something out for getting them to you. I have been loaned a truck to drive for a couple of days, so it would be no problem to drop them off if you are in the Calgary area. Other than that, I will be hauling the shell away wednesday morning (providing nothing else serious goes wrong), so the rest of the free parts will no longer be available after that time.
