Auto trans and throttle response cam?...
Check me on this one gurus...
I have been working on a friends '84 auto 944, as he claimed it is "bogging down" while driving around town since getting it back from his brother (just returned from a tour in the sand box). I of course started with the standard: cyl kill checks, noid checks, timing, tranny flush, yada, yada. Then something finally clicked in my head! Somebody had installed a quick response throttle cam! As I recall, the auto 944 wont work properly with the quick response cam?!? Does the shape of this cam change the kick down angle that much? I have to search through the garage to find "box #7" of Porsche parts, at least I think thats the box that has my extra intake parts, and hopefully the proper elongated throttle cam! ![]() I'll let y'all know if that fixes the issue! Laters, Nick

The throttle cam is no problem with the automatics. The reason why its advertised as not working with an automatic car is due to the different throttle cable, which actually wraps around the entire cam and back through the firewall. A quick work with a grinding tool (like a dremel) will make any throttle response cam work with an automatic.
Bogging down while driving could me a miss fire of some sort. What is the condition of the plugs, wires, cap and rotor? If you want a stock throttle response cam.. i have one i could sell.. from my automatic 924S non the less.. ![]()
