First round dyno we got 4HP more out of just the chips, but that round of chip was only to smooth it out and broaden the power curve. The extra HP was just a side effect. The chip going to the dyno Friday morning is the pre-release. Actually I've already shipped a few as we're pretty sure they're where we want them just from jgp0rsches driving tests.

Regards,
Russell

Just to let everyone know, who doesn't or may not know, the 968 head is not a "bolt-on" item. You can't just bolt on one of those heads. They are different in design. The same goes for bolting and S head onto an S2 or 968, it doesn't work.

Also, for those that are interested in the chip...... Final Stage dyno testing will be done 930am Friday morning.

Also, for those interested in the complete project, I will hopefully be testing the Vitesse Wasted Spark Ignition System on this car. Just working out the kinks.

JG, I bought one of the chips the other day, I'll be following your progress on your car to help me decide what to do with mine!

I plan to DE my car for at least a couple years before doing any wheel to wheel racing, so I don't have to worry about illegal mods until then. I'll just make sure I don't do any internal modifications with that in mind, but I really want to eat some of my buddies 911's on the track next year doing DE's!

just to give you a power comparison , after the MAF conversion, I project myself to be AT A MINIMUM of 175WHP. A stock S2 dyno's around 180WHP. The STOCK power curves are VERY similar, as well. But I would be able to run my modified S against a stock S2 and be even or maybe a slight edge to me as long as the new chip's torque curve dips have been smoothed. The S2 has the same dips in the power band at virtually the same RPMs. So the stock engine managment was VERY similar.

LOL, but I'll have the advantage with the 944SMAX MAF chip! SO there!

Thanks for the "datapoints." I'm probably going to campaign this car in NASA's GTS challenge so I can really do whatever mods I want as the car just has to fit within a power to weight range, but if I decide to do 944 supercup the car needs to be more stock. I'm sure once I get the chip installed and do a few other things I'm not going to want to go backward!

Honestly, I don't know for sure you're going to see that big a difference with a MAF in a NA car. Don't get your hopes up too high on that one.

Oh, that reminds me...

I need a flow/voltage chart for your AFM to do the MAF conversion in the chip...

Ok... anyone know bout this then?

i have found a bolt on turbo kit for the S , with manifolds and custom intake...change the pistons to the turbo pistons..keeping the same S head.... is that head strong enough?

No need to change the pistons? The S motor has 10.9:1 compression, how much boost does the kit run?

I'm interested in "this guy that's been racing porsches for a while now"

who is it? Did he tell you that you can't use the cast rods for forced induction?
