Well... that depends on how the casting proccess was done, quality control, etc. I'd take a perfectly cast part of a poorly forged one.

Not that this has anything to do with this disscussion, but the products the company I work for makes are about 35% stronger then the comp's, mainly due to better care when the original metal we machine is formed.

Proper treatment to cool it to operating tempurature is very important when forming metal at high tempuratures.
