944S2MAX beta tester needed
Hello,
The 944S2MAX chip is ready for beta testing. You will need access to a dyno. The tester pays for dyno runs so you will need access to a cheap or free dyno as it may take up to three trips to the dyno to complete the production product. You will test the 944S2MAX chip against stock chips and provide feedback as detailed performance descriptions and dyno charts for further tuning. You will receive a free chip for your S2, and if you own vehicles we make other chips for such as the 944S or 944Turbo you will receive free chips for those as well, up to three cars. If interested please PM me or drop me an email at: Russell@maxhpkit.com Thanks! Regards, Russell |

Whats the value of the chip?
Will you be doing anychips for 944S2s that will be raced? (I will be running a 944S2 with SCCA in the Improved Touring ITR class, so that would be a .5 bump in compression, port matching, internal parts optimization, header and free exhaust)

Are there guidelines for chipped cars in SCCA? As far as how far you can go with them, or is it just a matter of tuner capability? Regards, Russell |

The current rule allows any chip that fits the box...actually, if you can fit any engine management system in the stock enclosure, you can do so. So we see some Motecs actually stuffed into cases at exorbinant prices.
(I am on the rules commitee) And it is currently being discussed. One option is to allow any sytem, and throw out the "in the box" requirement. So, no, anything goes with chips, LOL> Assume race gas, and slightly greater compression, and full on header/exhaust systems. Goals are as always, greater power, and broader tq curve. !-3K rpm respnse isn't terribly important. And as many revs as the mechanical constraints of the engine will allow.. where are you located? What limitations are you faced with when dealing with the Porsche system?

My only limitation right now is access to cars and tuning equipment like dynos. But like I said I just found a dyna-pak fairly close by and am going to be working with some local shops soon to move things along a little better. I have a knack for determining the engine characteristics, reading stock Porsche code and improving upon it. Like I said in production chips I focus on the partial throttle maps first because that's where normal cars spend 90% of the their time. Then I broaden the overall power band and usually end up squeezing a bit more HP out of it. On turbo cars it's a whole different ballgame, all kinds of different turbos, mods, injectors, etc. Tuning for mechanical changes like heads, exhaust, intake characteristics, etc. is actually easier. Especially when a lot of turbo vendors won't disclose the actual flow characteristics of their products. Obviously they don't want anyone to tune their product better than they can. I just want to make cars go faster. If I make some money along the way great, if not, I'm making cars go faster and I'm happy! Regards, Russell |

Someone help Russell out. I have been the guinea pig for the 944SMAX chip. He is GREAT to work with, plus he can do wonders for your car.

Have a regular 944 chip? 1987-on?
There's a local dyno place I could do some runs on.

Well, I have a stock (engine wise) 89 944 S2 that I put an autothority chip in. I would be willing to help you. If it matters, I still have the original chip. I could put the original chip in, get dyno'ed, then your chip and compare. I have already dyno'ed with the autothority chip, so it would be cool to have all 3 chips compared on the same car and dyno.

I found a beta tester for the S2 today actually, and another for the 85.5-88NA. Now all I really need is someone with a late 2.7L NA. But I will also send you an email shortly. Regards, Russell |
