Kyle:

I just went back out to the play area and you can also move the ground point down to the rear bolt for the headlight bar behind the left light (see pic). Relays will fit in there also.

Man I love having a cool wife. I told her that at least my midlife crisis was confined to this area and did not include a young female.

geeze, steve.. i STILL say you could fit 3 cars in that garage of yours... 4 if you pull the C4 into the back of the Durango!

lets have a "help steve build an addition onto the garage" fund... lol

i'll try moving the ground.. that seems to be my only short coming right now... it might make things loads easier if i moved it down.

I just mved my relay setup back and down after doing the pic. It looks much cleaner, life is a learning experience.

Thanks for the fund offer but I'm not looking for sympathy, plus I doubt if I would get any. I need the extra space for the Benz I just got. That is one bad ass mini SUV. I'll post pics as soon as it's back home.

I am actually going over to Illinois tomorrow to check out a super clean black / tan 95 968 tiptronic coupe (the only way the wardon will allow another Porsche is w/ an auto). I always liked the way they look. I have never driven one but who knows??? Hopefully my light thing will work on it!! It also has a back seat for my granddaughter. She is definately into Porsches. I pity the poor dude that winds up w/ her.

OH MAN!!!!! This is exactly what I've been looking for..I have the upgraded H4 kit that I installed about 2 years ago..I am having some electrical problems with my gauges ( temperature gauge needle jumps and reads hotter than the engine actually is) and this only occurs when I turn on the headlights and have the fog lights on too..I think the wiring to the headlights is heating up and frying the wires..so I'm wondering if this would fix that problem..I would like to buy one of your custom headlight harnesses..email me at usairbearphx@yahoo.com, I have and 87 944 . Thanks, Jeff.

I think Steve did these as a one-off (meaning I doubt he'd be doing any more). I highly recommend getting the harness from Rennbay.

That is actually a good idea. Rennbay has a quality tested product. I did mine for myself and made an additional one for a member but the cost is prohibitive to sell them.

Thanks for the interest though and good luck.

I actually installed the harness... it was a snap to do, once i found a way to run the wire over to the passenger side lamp...

i'm just waiting on before/after output shots before i post pics to help anyone in the future... I've been pretty busy lately, and to be honest, I haven't even driven in the dark since i installed the harness!

It saddens me that it's going away. The guy is flying down from Detroit the second week of April and away it goes. He must not be too bad, he owns 2 Deloreans so at least it's going to another mashugana owner.
I really like the 911, but I also really like the 944, a lot.

do the upgrade light bulbs draw THAT MUCH more current? if the answer is slight or none, why not make conversion connectors at the end of the light lines to connect to the new bulbs?
i know i sound naive but i do want to know.

The issue is the wiring in the cabin - all the voltage for the lights runs through the switch in the stock setup. Standard wattage bulbs are okay, but the more current draw, the hotter things get. Some people really have had dash fires at the headlight switch. This wiring setup only runs "on/off" from the cabin to the headlight plug, the power for the lights comes off the alternator instead.

In reference to IXLOR8's post before

I too saw the Summit kit for about that same price. I have H4 100/90 bulbs and I'm testy to drive at night for fear of straining something, be it the lights, wires, or everything.

I want to know what harness would be good for the bulbs I'm using. I may just go to an HID conversion kit but for now I want to try out a better harness that puts more power to the lights and maybe even fog lights. It's just incredibly hard to see at night sometimes, even with the stock ones before, I swear you had to drive with the high beams on and even still it wasn't bright enough with the stock ones.

But back to the question, would that harness be good enough to get the full potential out of the bulbs I'm using now?
