About a month ago i posted about a problem i had with the clutch on my cab and also about having difficulty in engaging gears.
Anyway, as it's rained pretty well constantly since then here in the UK what chance i've had to drive her has been limited and on each drive i'de resigned myself to thinking either my gearbox was on it's last legs or my clutch was starting to give up after only 25k or so. This morning i thought i'de check out the play in the gear lever - strip off the leather boot and what do i find - it's missing the Lock washer! Luckily i had another on a spare lever i had which i duly fitted. The result on a run?Well there's now no difficulty whatsoever going through the box - no clunking or noise etc, etc. But the most noticable difference - no more vibration changing down the box which i thought was my clutch starting to give up. A very simple fix which has probably saved me a hefty garage bill. ![]()
