Porsche Crest Introducing myself

Hi Folks! I am new to this fantastic forum too, with its world of knowledge and experience. I am also a member of Swedish Porsche Club since January and have been reading this site almost every day now.
Got my 944 -84 with 210k kms on the odometer in December after a long ride from Lapponia up north to here in the middle of Sweden. Only the parking brake handle broke outside a hotel halfway . Now I have been working on her for more than 200 hours, following a long list Iīve made up on before hand. Itīs good to have this site to lean on to, and Haynes and Clarks Garage. Everything has been very straight forward to the end of that list, but I also now that list will be prolonged, thatīs for shure. It seems to be many issues on this site regarding our Porsche cars and especially 944!! How come?

Best wishes to all

Lapponia

Hi again Folks and thanks for the welcoming words from 944cabby, Voith, lovemy924S, mattdavis11 and jacommin.
Of course I will send pictures of my 944 -84 N/A, I have plenty of them in my PC. Question is how put them up on this site. Iīm quite old and not very pleased with myself in handling my PC in this matter. Hope I can get some advice here.

At the bottom of the text window when you "Go Advanced" to post a topic or writeup a new thread, there is the "Attach a photo" box. Left Click on "Click here to Upload a Photo..." and a new window will open. Click Browse and you can upload pics from any file you have access to on your PC. Make sure you use pictures that have the extension .gif of .jpg here on Pelican; these are the two types that work here.

Welcome to the forums

Hi guys and thanks for your replies. I will try a picture now as Covin tells me to do. Here it comes hopefully.

Itīs outsid my garage after a 850 km ride from Shellefteau in the Lapponia province to my place in Vasteras and she is not too dirty as I could expect from that ride. It is however late December. Lapponia is the northest province in Sweden and I took the signature from here.
Best regards
Lapponia e.g. Rolf

Oh, I forgot. She is Platinum metallic and looks like light bronze to me also, Dave. Not to bad paint either after 131K miles on the odometer. Please have a look at the wheels, they are winter tires with at least 100 small nails in them to break the ice or frost on the road surface. Itīs a law demand for it during wintertime over here. Now a little question, what is the type of the rim in the picture? I do like them a lot but the summer wheels are definitely phone dials and not mounted here.

Cookie cutter eh, now I know. Yes they look great as well as the Phone dials Iīve got for the summer. I will send some more pictures later on. I took her out on the streets in May after 200 hrs of refurbishment.
Now Eldorado, what is a "flux capacitor"here? It sounds really electrical to me but I donīt think you meant that.
Thanks all
Rolf

Rolf, it's from the movie Back to the Future - in the movie there was a DeLorean (type of car made in the early to mid 80s) and in it was something called a "Flux Capacitor"... in the inventor's own words: "It's what makes time travel possible".

Nice car! Hmmmm I liek those wheels better without the black in the center. Hehehe, I may have to paint mine silver now. I need to find me some chrome wheels I think. I jsut don't want to spend 1,000.00 dollrs on them though lol.
