Speed/reference sensor squak - help

How do I check the speed and reference sensors to see if they are bad? Is it a continuity test while turning the engine over? I think one of them has failed on my '86. Need to get this resolved ASAP!

Kris

Use an oscilloscope, just like the service manual says.

If you don't have an oscilloscope, take it to someone who does.

Find my reply in this thread:

Hiow to Test for crank / sensor

You can test your reference and speed sensors electrically AND without removing them from the bellhousing.
