Need some help!!! AC delete

Hey, Ive got an 87 924 S. I just replaced the accesory belt not too long ago and realized the AC housing was broken off. I need to find a way to eliminate it, OR find a way to repair the case. It doesnt look too difficult. For now i have it in upside down, ghetto rigged with only the front bolts and no rear bolt. It squeals still despite being tight. I need for either someone to sell me a burnt pump with a good case, or some advice on deleting the AC pump! I was thinking of just taking one of the alternator bolts out and using my own tie rod, But then i dont know if it will have the same squal problem. Thanks, Joe

Hi, there is an ac delete plate made and it costs around 150 I think. Don't know where to find one though but am sure someone else will tell you. I have a comressor for an 83 944 if you would like to go that route. If so email me at zedsn@hotmail.com.

I got my AC delete kit from Lindsey Racing. I think it was around $150 for the bracket and belt.

It was an easy job to do. Don't forget to pull the dessicator and condensor too (you will see better engine cooling).

Go to Rennlist.com's classified section. There is an AC delete bracket on there made by Albert Broadfoot (used to be Broadfoot Racing, now I think it's Autosport Florida) for $70 I think. I used it on my car, and it works great.

Or, I've still got my old compressor if you want it. I'm sure the seals are gone in it, but it would work like an idler pulley. Of course, it might cost more to ship it to you than the delete bracket would cost you. Let me know your zip code, and I'll see what shipping would cost, if you want to do that.

Is the compressor case itself broken or the mount that attaches to the engine? I have an extra mount for the engine if thats what you need.

Thanks for the info. I would definately like to restore the AC some day, but i think i might have to do the delete for now. Makes sense. The car does get hot sometimes too...so maybe it could use the extra radiator flow. For the record, my zip is 07740, and the ac pump itself broke, along with the mount bolt.
