				Contemplating the project....

My car needs a whole variety of work (its a long list) and before I dive into I thought I would consider upgrading my '80 924 to Carrera or Carrera GT spec. However, I've haven't been able to find an outline of what parts are required to undertake this. I'm not even sure if the stock motor needs to be replaced.... Has anyone tried this before? Does anyone know of a manual for this? Parts Diagrams? Any info would be appreciated.

Carrera GT has the 924 turbo heads. It may have different pistons from the standard turbo & maybe a different cam. It has an intercooler that the 924 turbo does not have. The clutch is different from the standard turbo & the wastegate spring is, too. The ignition distributor curve fuel distributor & warm up regulator may be different. The GTS has other differences I know of. An aluminum roll bar, 935 type brakes & struts (ball joints NLA), a regulator type boost ajustment, and an 8 cylinder fuel distributor (replacement NLA but can retro fit 928 or Mercedes). Unnecesary CIS plumbing is gone, decel valve, etc.
