never heard of it.
It doesn't look like a homeade job. I'm sure you can get all that info plus some here on the boards.

That's George Hussey's book. For those unfamiliar, he's the owner of Auto Atlanta, and I've heard nothing but nasty feedback about the place. Some of the tips in the book are helpful, though.

I have it. Not bad I guess. Not real in depth, a bunch of little 1 paragraph tips. I don't know anything about Auto Atlanta or George Hussey.

Anyone else with some newer feedback? I know there is a lot of info here on the site but I seem to do better with a book. If there is any value its an easy buy.

What's your question? Feedback about Atlanta Auto or the book? Get the Haynes manual, will be more helpful.

You just answered it! Got the Haynes. Not so helpful for the 16Vs. Always looking for more info.

I have the book - it's fair but not fantastic.
I bought this book because I also have the 914 version - that is a fantastic book. The guy is really a 914 expert and I have used that book as my 914 bible for years. He's got fantastic tips for the 914 As far as the 944 version, it's much smaller (about a 3rd the size of the 914 book). Most of the tips, I've already read on this board. However, I did pick up a tip about checking vacuum leaks where you cut a fuel filter in half, attached it to the intake boot, and pump it with air from a bicycle pump - I tried this and found my last leak - So, I found the book to be worth it but still far less valuable than the 914 version. If you like to collect 944 stuff (including books) I'd get it - it's only $15 Also, it depends on your car's situation. My '88 944 only has 29k miles on it so there's nothing wrong with it. If you've got an older 924 or 944, this may be the book you need. Vern Last edited by Tidybuoy; 12-23-2007 at 06:48 PM.. |

Just get it, it's worth the little bit of money.
For the 16V's you really need the FSM for the DME Diagnosis and Troubleshooting Guide. For general bosch knowledge, I highly recommend Bosch Fuel Injection & Engine Management by Charles O. Probst. I also liked reading Adrian Streather's 911 books (964, 993...).
