NOT LOOKING FOR SYMPATHY! when you think you have it bad, Least your car isnt wrecked
So I kinda got into a little bender…. Actually a bad bender! I am not looking for sympathy just telling my story. It’s a timeline from before to after and the whole body conversion… and the huge waster of stupid amounts of money. The car prior to everything had a freshly rebuilt motor, tranny, brake overhaul and less then 500 km on it. It also came from Florida and did not have a single spec of rust. My Porsche mechanic that worked in the Porsche factory in Germany was the one who did all the work on this car for me for a minimal cost so he almost cried when he found out what had happened… well enjoy my misery!!!

With the collection of tons of body panels and engine parts took a good couple of months and all the work that was done ended up being about a year and a month... and I couldn't let it go to a scrapper I had the car for only a couple of months, so in my present mind state at the time I could not let go of it.

Nice work, my friend and i did something similar to his '89 n/a which was wrecked previously to purchase. We cut off the entire front end and welded on an new front clip. Alot of measurements were needed to get that one right..and it was pretty nerve racking taking a sawz-all to a perfectly running car, albeit with a pretty crooked front end.

Wow that must have been interesting doing all that precision welding... its a real pain. The car isn't done yet, I am still looking for a rear valance and a front bat wing or lip.

We made a jig to mount the front clip on to make sure it all lined up prior to cutting and welding on the new piece. It took alot of time. The welding wasnt bad, but the metal is extremely thin making it a pain to join the two ends together.
If you are interested, i have a good condition batwing from my 951 which was replaced with a front splitter.

How much are you looking to get for the bat wing? I am primarily looking for a splitter as well. Does it have any cracks or chips? all the mounting points alright? does it come with hardware?

It has about 111k miles on it so it has some scuffs on the underside, but otherwise is in great shape, no cracks and all mounting points intact. I reused the hardware for my spillter install, however its nothing that you cant get at your hardware store. Basically it consists of speed nuts, and screws. If your still interested in it, PM me, ill send you pictures and we can work out a price. I need to figure out how much it will cost to ship.

Excellent work, and excellent perseverance.
Hop you don't mind me asking what strut brace you run? Will it clear a turbo inlet manifold?
