Recirculating air not working...

I am trying to sort out some problems with my "new" 944. I made the fix for constant heat, which worked great but now the recirculate doesn't work. The button pushes in and lights up, but air is still coming through the vents. I read about a fresh/recirculating linkage that should be near the heat linkage, but I couldn't seem to find it. My car is a 1985.5 and Clark's mentioned that only "later" cars have it....does mine or did he mean even later than 1985.5?

Any other suggestions on what to look for? Thankfully this isn't a pressing issue, just would be nice to have fixed.

Thanks guys!

Pushing the recirculation button does not mean that air shouldn't come through the vents. It just means that the air coming through the vents is being recirculated from inside the car instead of outside (fresh air).

ya but if the fan is off and the recirculte button is pushed, doesnt that mean the air should stop? Thats the way it has worked in all my other cars... is there some other way to stop air from coming in?

My car doesn't have a recirc button (it's an 83), but in my Saturn you have to turn the fan on before the recirc button does anything. However, the recirc button stays in effect once the fan has been turned off again. Perhaps the 944 is similar.

I will have to try turning the fan off with the recirc button on to see if mine does the same as yours. I do know air keeps coming in on mine when I have my fan and recirc turned off.
