^ Welcome Biggy! What year is your car? Looks like a very clean late-model 944. Keep it clean!! :)
|
Thanks for the welcome Elliot.
She's a 1987 base... I bought her with 24K miles on her in 2001, and now I'm right at about 74K problem free miles as a daily driver. These pictures are about the dirtiest she's ever been! Weather has been bad around here lately. This is the inside, it's filthy as well: The weekend starts tonight, TGIF! So tomorrow she'll get the works, a full detail. |
Wow! Amazing you got it with such low mileage.
Couldn't help but notice - tach and voltmeter seem to point to the car being off. So why is the oil pressure needle pegged? Nice steering wheel too! The black really shows the rear fender lines nicely! Be safe, have a good evening! |
The car is off... last month the oil pressure pegged on high and won't come down. I hooked up a multi-meter to it and ran the car and got variable readings, so I just ordered a new one off eBay. The steering wheel is a Momo Tuner, it just seems to make handling easier.

massive upload of pics from today. helping my friend from work put a bonnet back on his black '88 n/a and pics of my car with his '86 turbo.

I think these are the first pictures I've ever taken of this car when I wasn't trying to fix something on it.

Forgot about this. Found it awhile ago. It's a picture from an ebay Germany ad for some brake rotors. We have much prettier women here in the U.S. :D

That looks like the crp file from nfs porsche , use to play around with those many years ago. |
It does! I played that game as a little boy on the computer. Dad always won :( (I couldn't drive in manual )

Looks good!
|
Thanks! I'm loving it so far.

Hard to tell from photos and not in person but it looks really clean and straight! Maybe a few dings and paint chips but overall good condition! How's the interior? Everything works, mechanical and electrical? If you have issues (Likely you will sooner or later) then you have found a great resource here.

Gaw,
Body is clean, a couple of dents behind the front wheels like someone had driven over a tall curb or something - but not major. Plenty of little rock chips. Interior is immaculate. Leaks a little bit of oil. A bit of uneven front tire wear (inside on passenger side). My main concern right now is that the idle is way high (1400 cold, 2000 warm) and I don't know if I have more belt whine than I should... Any thoughts? I started a thread, but it is waiting moderator approval. Thanks! Porsche 944 whine and idle - YouTube |
I just lost my post (I had linked a youtube video in it... which I guess requires approval?)
Very clean, interior is immaculate, a few rock chips, a couple of little dents behind the front wheels from where something (a curb, maybe?) was driven over and contacted the bottom edge of the body, but it is quite minor. Rubber is all good. Glass is all good. Leaks a little bit of oil, some uneven inside tire wear (front passenger side), and the idle runs at about 1400rpm cold and 2000rpm warm, and I don't know if I have more than normal belt whine or not at this point... My youtube user name is dicemansr77 and I just posted a video of my idle and belt whine. If you have a moment! Thanks again. |
Belt whine when starting the car? There should be none. And that idle is crazy high. Should be 900 + or - 50.
