That's awesome! I'm doing my 88 like a Turbo Cup car as well, I'm not as far along as you. I have all the rear carpet removed, the front may come out over the holiday weekend. Next up are the Blaupunkt decals. Need Recaro (or something close), and very soon the phone dials will be the correct pearl metallic white. I also want to improve the roll caging and so on, I just can't seem to "take the plunge" an get super big sponsorship decals. I am going for a more subtle but still "racing" look with the mechanical mods to reflect the factory Turbo Cup cars.

If you use harnesses I strongly urge you to get seats with proper routing holes for them. The submarine and shoulder belts. Most clubs, including PCA, do not allow on track the setup you have.

Get some FIA seats, not eBay special JDM things either.

Thanks for the heads up, Toast and bvd. This whole setup was with the car when I got it, the lap belts were installed, but not the sboulder harnesses and submarine belt, though they were at one time. I did not know that was an issue. Was that a big problem which led to seat design with holes in the backs? I know it is a relatively new concept (the holes)

The car also still has stock seatbelts in front, that's what I use 99% of the time, honestly.

Now I have a better excuse to buy a set of good FIA approved seats! The harnesses are coming up on expiration as well according to the tags.

I would recommend only using the stock belts until you sort it out.

I don't believe that's why some newer seats have that. I think it's more of a styling exercise to make them look like race seats. The holes are really for the proper routing of harnesses. They aren't necessary for standard intertia-reel three-point belts, which most street cars have. You'll note that modern Porsche seats (with the exception of those in the GT3, etc.) look largely the same as they did thirty years ago.

After all, Recaro makes most of the seats for Audi, Porsche, VW, etc, including the plain-jane comfort ones.

In my cars, I would never use anything other than stock seats (that came delivered on the same car) or FIA ones. If it's aftermarket, it's FIA. Otherwise, it's different seats from the same car model, etc. that properly mate up. I'd never buy a Recaro replica or some weird JDM thing for a car.

Yes, I would replace the harnesses too. You can use the old ones for your basement racing simulator setup, lol. :p

Now I know what to do if I ever pick up a spare sunroof panel! You must have fun cleaning those wheels on the blue car, too. :D But they look business! They don't look like BBS, are they?

I had brackets made that bolt to my Sparcos and uses the early non-power seat rails, that I can also mount the seat belt receiver to, so we can still use the stock seat belts.. The wheels on the Blue car are Enkie, yep, lots of fun cleaning those, pressure washer:-)

My harnesses are installed properly at all points - the seats are just stock Porsche. So the only issue is that the shoulder harnesses go over the seat backs, not through. They are attached to the harness bar on the roll bar.

I love the blue car's color, very vibrant.

1991 Porsche 944 S2
 

My 1991 Porsche 944 S2 Coupe – Black exterior – Gray interior, linen Porsche seats with gray leather trim. Those are 3-piece 17" OZ Racing Futura Modula wheels of the same vintage as the car.

This is not the North Aamerican version of the car. I imported the car into Canada from overseas. A quick look at the car and you will see that the euro version does not have the big clunky looking bumpers. Also different are the small side marker lights behind the front wheels. The North American version has larger marker lights that are forward of the wheels.

Thanks! It was a fun little day project. Thinking about doing a little carbon fiber vinyl coating on my son's wheels next. He's got a Honda, and is into all the Japanese culture stuff, so figure I'll help him out with making his car look/feel ricer for him ;)
