WOW!!! What a great array of cars. Quick question. The Porsche shield I saw on the front side fenders, is it a decal or a badge with 3-M two sided tape? Thanks

Club Day at the Milwaukee Masterpiece

Since Porsche was the featured marque this year I spent extra time cleaning instead of driving. A friends husband took these pictures of my car at the event the end of August. (I was too busy taking pictures of other cars)

In the afternoon while I was sitting in the shade chatting with the owners of the 930 next to me I heard my car get dis'ed, "It looks like a Datsun"

I kept it clean for another week and somehow took second in a local concours beating a very nice red 88 M3. I've decided it was the accessories - sunroof bag, tool kit, gloves and compressor - that tipped it my way.

this is a guy from my local forum that just completed 5 days of tarmac rally in the 2011 Dunlop NZ Targa. Same colour as mine but a year older, so, the older dash. It looks like he was coming 4th in class until he busted a ball joint on Day 3.

1. I've never seen a datsun as boxy as a 944

2. Their car looks, feels, and drives like a VW beetle.

The car they probably had in mind was the old Nissan ('Datsun') 300ZX from the late '80s. A good-looking car, actually, in a vaguely similar style of design - though not as pretty as the 944.

The first front engined Porsche I ever drove. The love affair started here for me.

It would have been my first Porsche but the dealer wanted $2500 for it and would not budge on his asking price at all. My dad wouldn't let me pay "full price" for a Porsche (he likes to negotiate). I go off and buy an 84 944 with sport suspension and full service history the same day. 4 months later the red car ends up in our local Porsche junkyard because nobody bought it from the dealer and I turned it down for $1400.
