944 Signal Light Problem

I have a 1984 944 2.5L N/A. The signal lights suddenly stopped working while I was driving. When you signal no lights come on outside the car and the indicator on the dash stays a solid green, no flashing, no clicking. I changed the relay and it did not fix the problem. Someone suggested the combination switch in the column may be broken but if that were the case the indicator light on the dash would not come on at all. Also my hazard lights still work. Any ideas?

I had the same problem. It was a short under the fuse block.

Thanks a lot for the reply. You have no idea how much I appreciate this. I also now have no instrument lights, trunk lights and license plate lights. Would they be related to the short? And to fix it did you just have to do some rewiring? Or replace the fuse box? Again thanks a lot for the info, much appreciated.

Okay so I did some poking around behind the fuse block and found a badly corroded wire that plugged into the block behind the relay. I changed the wire and connector and managed to get my dashboard lights, license plate lights, trunk light, etc. back. I still however have no signal lights. Is there a specific wire or set of wires I should be closely looking at with regards to the fuse block and signal lights? Also there is a black and red wire not connected to the block. Any ideas on where this should be plugged into?

I actually took the entire fuse bock apart till I found the bad wire. I am still guessing a wire somewhere. Sorry I cannot help more.
