I'm sure you have a good reason to want to do this, but for the life of me, I can't figure out why?

Installing a plastic tank?

If your doing this to your 924S, the bolt holes with nuts welded to inside of frame are alreay there, just need to cut out crossmember.

I'm converting a 924S to 924 GTS replica with 951 drivetrain, suspension, brakes, plastic tank. I cut the crossmember out and was prepared to cut open the frame to weld in the nuts but everything is already there.

Here's a couple pics of the frame rails and the two standoffs for the plastic tank. I didnt get pics of the tank strap brackets, let me know if you need those too.

Ah, so the standoffs and strap brackets were cut from the donor car?

They were, you might get away without the standoffs but the strap brackets are needed. The late straps do bolt to the existing holes in the frame.

OK, so do the standoffs sit in the indentations on top of the tank, maybe to keep it from slipping back and forth?

How important do you think that is? I realize it will be quite heavy with all that extra dino juice inside. . .

Yes, thats where the standoffs fit.

The staps hold it in there pretty well, but I suppose Porsche had their reason to put them there.

You'll also need the puel pump bracket held in by the passenger side tank strap and a later connector for the sender, brackets for standoff bolts.

Feel free to contact me offline if you need any other info.
