alt charges for a 1/2 second, then not, then so, then not...so on
I've noticed an odd issue with my 951S: My charging needle will dance between 12.5v & 13.5v, as if the alternator charges for 1/2 a second then not, then again...etc. The needle dances about 2 times a second.
It really IS doing this as the dash/headlights will brighten/dim with the dancing of the needle, though ever so softly. I replaced my alt last year about this time with a rebuild. Anyone have any thoughts?? Mark

mounted to the alt, integrated within the alt, or mounted somewhere else?

Mounted on the back of the alternator, includes brushes for the commutator.
