Vandals. I hate vandals.

My 924 has been vandalized now 4 times since I bought her. First scratched. Then things attempted to be torn off. Gas siphoned on my an occasion, hit and run not once but twice. Now this....

I was driving her over to my new house i just bought, and she started right now. It's a 5minute drive. On the way up the hill the temp gauge climbs. I hear a "PFFVVT" and then smell coolant. Park the car, open the oil cap, sure as hell, tons of coolant.

I checked the dipstick, NO OIL.

I went back to the old apartment, low and behold, someone had drained all her oil. *******s.

(this is on the 924, not the 944).

lol no. but i do have a neighbor that hates me for some reason unbeknown to me. we think he was the one siphoning the gas. the car keeps getting siphoned. i put a locking cap on it, and then the car got mysteriously "scratched". I asked questions, he acted weird about it.

I put the cap off put the normal one on. Siphoned again. Put the locking cap back on and she got dents in her fender which was put in as a hit and run by the police. no one ever fessed up. Not enough room where it was parked for something to hit it, unless someone backed into it and on top of it, which was possible.

I repaired the dents, and then months later they came back... frustrating.

Got siphoned AGAIN. So i moved it. Then my other car got siphoned. Oddly enough ONLY MY CARS got siphoned. We put a locking cap on it and went to the gas station where the neighbor kid works and got a "Oh no f***ing way..." reaction from him when i handed him the key to open the cap. No more siphoning after that.

Now I have a dead 924 outside my new house with a blown gasket with no oil and an engine full of coolant.

On top of the 944 "heating" issue i've had, the clutch went out on my ducati and i snapped a bleeder screw while bleeding the clutch and the slave cylinder spun. SO i have a "maybe" working as intended 944 and a fully functional ninja 250. Perhaps life wants me to ride around on 27.1hp for a little while.

ooo i got a better idea

put a security camera and a video recorder and park your car in clear visibilty. then when yer neighbor is around, brag LOUDLY to a friend how you just got the car all spanking fixed and new, runs like a champ, last another 10 years. wait for him that evening. then take him to Judge Judy for $3000 quote from Porsche dealership to fix the blown gasket.

Yeah if only it was that easy. I've had people watching and I myself have even sat outside after talking about filling up the tank as bait, never caught anyone, it always happens while I'm at work and my fiance is at work.

They don't know where I moved, so I have a feeling my problems have been remedied Wouldn't be worth his time.

Little disheartening though, i just got it tuned up, she was runnin' like clockwork. Oh well. Time to rebuild the engine and move over to megasquirt like i've been wanting to. My new garage has enough room for an engine stand and plenty of things to do. Hehe.

Still... i don't get why people are so vicious and mean.

The only MO I can come up with is jealousy. There has been 4 or 5 times now, since I got the 951 last year, that I have noticed scratches and dents that didn't used to be there. I gotta keep reminding myself that I got the car to drive, not to look at, to keep my anger under control. But if I ever catch someone doing it, I'm sure the cops will be filing assault charges on me. At this point, that isn't something that I'm even remotely concerned about. I will be focusing on something far more important - JUSTICE.

I hear ya man. I'm the same way. I've caught a kid sitting on my Ducati once. i went in to get some coffee, walked in, and while I was ordering i turned around and this kid was sitting on my bike playing around on it.

Now... had it been my 250, anything else, if he was just scoping it out i wouldn't have flipped out. But my Ducati has a sprung stand. You pick the bike up, up goes the stand. If the person doesn't know that and goes to put it down, they put the bike down on it's side.

I ran out the door screaming "GET THE F*** off my bike! What do you think you're doing!" and the kid hopped off and ran like someone was gonna murder him. I just went back inside and drank my coffee. I bet he probably never sat on anyone's bike after that.

I try not to let it get to me and i try to let it roll off my shoulders best i can, but i needed to vent. It's frustrating. lol.

Dude, go hide a camera (web cam, or whatever) set up a recording device, and catch the bastard......then save the tape, let it happen again, the nail him by the balls......the repeat vandalism will let you go after him for all the past damage in a civil case if needed.......

Well, no way to really catch the guy anymore, i've moved into a new house away from the area. Thankfully it shouldn't be an issue anymore. if it does, there will be hell to pay.

Wow..........I just got through reading this thread! That sucks!! Some people are just plain jerks! (Would like to use other words, but they are not permitted here!) However, that's one of the worse "neighbor war" stories I've ever heard of! Draining your oil.........that's just BAD!

I'm glad to hear that you've moved away from there. If it was me, I'd be flippin' out! I have a lot of respect for you for keeping your cool!

^^^^ oddly enough i've never actually been at war with the dude... but we've all had issues. The guy chews and has been accused of breaking into the apartments before I moved. It was weird when my neighbors started asking me if they knew someone who chewed. The assumption was this guy since a long time ago he did apartment work for the property management and we figured he still had a key. Was pretty weird when fresh empty cans of chew started showing up in apartments. When we talked to the cops they said "Well we can't do much... i don't see a motive, nothing is missing, and unless it's a harmful can of chew there isn't much we can do." Real helpful.

I got a new house of my own now and still got my porsches and sportbikes and a lovely fiance, he has the satisfaction of knowing he's a lowlife pile of crap, he can keep it.

i hear ya man... lol. i have some insane stories from living in that place. i lived there for about 4-5 years. i'm so glad i am out of that place. talk about a headache. that poor 924 would make progress and get vandalized again and again. thankfully my new neighbors seem to be pretty kickass. everyone has been greeting us, hanging out, coming over and saying hi, inviting us over for bbqs... our neighbors were never that friendly where we were, makes me feel a lot better.

we should just turn this into the official "I hate my neighbors" thread.

My room mate is about 6'2 and in the Guard and tough SOB... The guy threatening him is about 5'10 and scrawny little crack head...

That's just messed up! I would have gotten smart with some video alot sooner, because nobody touches my car like that. Too bad. I heard stuff like main bearings are very hard to get for that motor.

That sucks. Someone has it out for you man. Neighbors suck. I moved away from all that. I only have one neighbor and they are about 100 or more feet away from my house with plenty of foilage bewtween me and them. They are old too. Weird though. If they ever got on my nerves,... all Id have to do is stick out a foot A broken hip is a decent amount of time in a hospital.

Personally, I would still break every window in his house... and leave the porsche crest in his mailbox.

If I ever caught anyone doing anything to mine, I would hope they can run very fast for a very long time.. for their own good.
