17" cup wheels value

I ordered a new set of wheels and will want to sell my wheels when they come in.I don't know the value of my old ones however.
17" Mille Miglia cup replicas
perfect shape,no curbs,scratches or chips
The only flaw I can find on them is some slight discloration around the valve stems,I don't know what causes this.A small ring around the stem.
I think they are 8s and 9s,but can measure to be sure.

I am not out to rob anyone and would love someone local to Hilton Head Island,SC if possible so I don't have to ship.
Are they worth $50-$100 each?

Are they being sold with the tires on? If so, what tire model, size and how much remaining tread. What offset are they?

replicas of C2 Turbo wheels (the correct name for them) like those should be good for at least $500 for the set if they are flawless - new was about $1100 the last time i checked (a couple of years ago)

they should say on the inside what size and ET they are (use a mirror)

depending on what sizes and ETs they are, there should be a good market for them - i ran them on one of my 968s for a while - worked great

I am switching the tires to the new wheels as they have less than 2000 miles on them.
The wheels are late offset that fit 87 and up.

Porsche Crest That Should be a Steal...

I would think that they are worth more than that. I just but winter steel rim at Costco for a Civic @ $50.

I'll track your thread as I would like more info on the Cup wheel in general.

they could be worth more, but they are replicas, which are a couple of pounds heavier than the real ones, and different offsets, so it could take the "right" guy to get more

but to answer the question, yes, they are definitely worth at least $100 each

You can find genuine Cup1 (Turbo) wheels in the $600-800/set without tires. I would think replicas shouldn't be worth more than 1/2 of that.

Also, what year (offset) are they? the "et23" range (ie early offset) or "et52" range (late offset)?

I just came from the garage and did the mirror trick and the best I can tell I read

front 052 which I assume is a 52 offset

rear I see :
054 54 offset sound right?
R10 ( 10 inch?)
CUP1
Made in Italy on both front and rear

they are most likely 7 or 7.5" wide on front and 9" on the rear.

I've got a set of replicas (Borbet) that are 7-1/2" front, 9" rear that I'm willing to sell for $300 (no tires). I was actually going to throw them on FeeBay tonight (I need 'em gone). If you're interested let me know.

BTW I love that yellow 944. I'm in the process of prepping my 944 for paint right now (probably going with a very similar color). Just thought I'd mention. I actually like how the Cup wheels look on it, but I think I'm still going to sell 'em and keep my BBS RSes.

Thanks, the color is Summer Yellow available on the 944 in 87 only and on 911s in 87 and maybe a few other years.

I like the Cup wheels also, but my favorites on a 944 has always been the Fuchs and when the opportunity came up to get some custom made Jeff Alton Fuchs in 17 inch 8 and 9s with the correct late offset,I decided that was what I really prefer.

genuine C2 Turbo wheels (often misnomered as Cup 1) usually go for about $1000 if they are clean and 7.5" front and 9" rear - beat up ones go for less - 7" go for less - 9.5" and 8" go for more

real "Cup" wheels, which only came on the european cup cars, are magnesium and go for a LOT more

They are definately not genuine Porsche wheels, they are replicas, but Cup 1 is cast into the back of the wheels.I am not sure what they are replicas of,C2 Turbo or Cup 1s.I do not know the difference.
They may be 7.5s and 9s.Is there an accurate way to measure when the tires are mounted?

since there never was any wheel called Cup 1 by porsche (or Cup 2 for that matter), that one is easy - those are C2 Turbo

people have been calling them by the wrong names for years

the whole "Cup 1 Cup 2" thing was a european misnomer that started when the first wheels that "looked" like the wheels that came on the Cup car came out on the 911 - they were very different though, no matter how similar looking they were - then when the next one came out, those same people continued that error and called it Cup 2 - in reality those were called "993 Cup" - the other names never came from porsche though

consult wheel enhancement for further info - they are the only authorized non-dealership full retailer for porsche wheels in the country - they get their documentation directly from porsche

they should be marked on the back, but if you want to measure them, you measure between the insides of the lips - if the tires are mounted, you can measure the outside, and subtract 1" and round to the nearest 1/2"

Thanks for the info.
I measured with the tires mounted and hooked a tape measure on the inside of the wheel and measured to the outside edge and get 81/2 front and 10 inch rear.So I guess that makes them 71/2 and 9s.
