Condensation at tailpipe and oil cap
Was doing an oil change today, and noticed that there was some condensation on the oil cap- clear (water). It has been in the mid- F30's here. I think that normal because she hasnt been ran for a while except this last week, which has been no more than 10-15 start up no longer than 10 minuets.
Antoher place there were clear liguid was coming out of the tail pipe. The car has always done this, but dont know if it really should. There was some smoke coming out of the tail pipe. Always had some smoke, not alot, not enough to say white smoke like a bad Head Gasket, but normal exaust white smoke. But due to the cold weather, there was more once the car ran for a few minuets. A long trail of liguid, it doesnt smell, not enough to make a good judgement of color, but I would say clear? Some pictures of the trail and look closely for smoke. The heavy black not in the spray is an old oil stain ![]() ![]() ![]()

normal as every car when at idle has smoke from the tail pipe on a cold day. I know the spit from the exaust isnt so normal. New cars spit some, but not nearly as much as mine.

its totally normal, when gasoline is burned, one output IS water (H2O) excessive soot in the water or out the tailpipe is just that, soot. fuel is not being burnt completely, and lets face it, our cars aren't as "smart" as the cars that are currently being produced today. or the emission requirements from the 80s are not up to par like they are today. there were no ULEV or LEV (ultra low emission vehicle or low emission vehicle) 944s....
but yes it is normal. no worries. as for the condensation on your oil cap, normal as well. just drive it longer to burn off the condensation in your oil, atleast 20mins of driving usually.

mine doesnt do the water things...i wonder if im not optimized.....

What would cause my car to run rich? O2 sensor replacement? It looked dirty when I changed my oil yesterday.

My car was idleling at abot 1K- 1.2K range when it was smoking and spitting. Was. On initial start up I let her run for a few minuets to get warm, not normal temp. Wasnt as much smoke, or water this time. When she was at the 1/4 mark on the temp. guage is when I screwed with the adjuster. I adjusted my Idle Speed Adjuster from the 1k-1.K at idle with and without fans to 850-975 range with no smoke or spit. When I shut her off she sat for about 15 minuets, then for a 5 minuets drive, then let sit idle for a few minuets. It could have been I had to get water from the engine out, or it was the idle speed adjuster that was causing it? ISA had to be adjusted either way.

the dme could richen it up by the 02 sensor, the temp sensor, or the tps being out of whack..
