Does anyone make a gauge panel for the under-the radio area of the console?
Basically, I'm looking for a black plastic panel that has a rectangular cut-out on top half, for the radio, and 3 (or even 2) round holes in the bottom half that will fit 2" gauges. I'd like to avoid having to make my own, because it probably won't look pretty. Is there any outfit that makes 'em?

Yea, kinda. But they are only the bottom half of what I had in mind. I also need about 1/4" of plastic "trim" to go around the radio. Maybe I can work some else out for that. But if I do that, I might as well make the whole thing with gauge cut-outs, 1 piece. The panels you are showing do look pretty nice, though. They kind of remind me of 15" rack-mount components, with the handles on the sides. But it looks like, due to the space taken up by the handles, there is no room left for a 3rd gauge. This is my scenario: I need to mount a boost gauge and an A/F gauge, plus a (standalone) shift light. I know that is a less-than-ideal location for a shift light, but if I can see it come on while looking straight ahead, I would rather have it there, than sticking out somewhere else. Out of curiosity, what do those panels above go for?

My kid has a boost gauge, an AFM, and a manual boost controller - I believe he got the panel insert and the boost gauge and MBC from Lindsey.
The package came with an analog AFM gauge but he replaced it with a more accurate digital one (from Innovate) when he got his wideband O2 sensor. I don't have a picture of it but it looks real good - like it's s'posed to live there.

That's kind of spicy, for what it is. Is that the radio above it? I have the late style console, and my radio is where the gauges in the picture are. I would have to delete the compartment below it, and put my gauges there. It's starting to look like I'm going to have to make the damn thing myself, anyways.

not at all - i get to get back in there in the next couple of weeks to change the vacuum gauge to a boost gauge, and possibly the clock to an A/F meter, both due to the new supercharger i am installing
also installing the bypass for the deck at the same time so i can program on the fly |

I could not find a panel for my three gauges that was economical so I made my own - easy.
I used Carbon Fiber Material - a finished flat plate that started out as 12" x 12" and cut out a piece that was 7 3/8" x 2 3/8" then with a Milwaukee 2" hole saw drilled/sawed out the three holes + 2 more small holes at the bottom corners for the mounting screws - easy. ![]()

Nice, but I don't think I could get used to having my gauges tilted like that. It reminds me of have tilted pictures on a wall, or something. But I know what you mean by none of the one's for sale being very economical. I think I am just going to cut one out of a 1/8" thick piece of black poly.

Yep each to their own as I actually like them on the tilt - they are for me just easier/quicker to read in my case. I found my self in the past sort of tilting my head straight to read the gauges in straight up fashion. After this set is installed and the car is running I will place some hobby tape (1/8" self stick vinyl tape and probably red) at the normal or red-line positions according to the gauge, etc. for quick glance..............
I choose Carbon Fiber but plastic or aluminum plate will work just as well as it all does the same function.

You tilt them so "normal" is straight up regardless of the gauge. So you know all is well with just a glance -- old racer's trick. Boats too -- when you're bouncing around at 80mph on water it is kinda hard to read all those little numbers..., you just give a quick look and if one is different than the others you know something is awry.
