Pulling out fresh air blower assembly

Tracking a water leak in the passenger footwell shutting down the DME computer.
I already checked the battery tray and it's solid and no visible rust areas. Sprayed water too, no leak

Anybody with experience pulling out the fresh air blower assembly?
Looks like it's stuck to the mount opening pretty tight.
What type of seal did you use?
Thanks.

Do you have any holes in the thin plastic cover over the blower assembly? If so, water will get into the blower and work it's way into the footwells. The cover is very fragile and gets damaged easily. I repaired the holes in mine with some aluminum tape applied to both sides and painted it black to hide the repairs......it stopped the water intrusion and looks OK for now until I get the time and incentive to replace it later on.....

Thanks White944.

I already bought a new black plastic cowl cover from Sunset Porsche ($50). I just need to pull out the blower assembly and reseal it.

I already got it off. I had to use a pry bar to lift off the seal from the sheetmetal. It is sealed with butyl rubber pressed against the sheetmetal and blower base. The front of the blower assembly has lifted off the seal and leaking water into the passenger footwell.

I will take pics later.

I'm listening to this thread because I've got leakage issues too.
I've only had the car a few weeks now and although the car is excellent condition, it leaks like an old man that forgot to wear his Depends.
So it's imperative for me to stop this leak asap.

Listening and subscribed.

Nice little how to man and looking good.
Good luck with it and now I've got a better idea on what to look for and where to go.
Thanks.

Update after some days of heavy rain

The passenger side foot well is now bone dry.
My foot well leak affecting the DME connector was due to the failed seal in the fresh air blower opening.
