Early Heater Faceplate

Hello,

My early 944 I am putting back together was a track car so all of the heating and AC was removed. I am having trouble figuring out from the parts diagrams how the heater faceplate attaches to the "lever contraption". The two mounting tabs do not match anything on the faceplate (or the console) so I must be missing something. Any help would be appreciated.

The two pins on the side near your hand in the picture slide into the upper fascia and the two slots on the R/H side of the plate in your picture slide over two screws inserted from the bottom and screwed into the heater control plate. Don't forget the light bulb that sits in the white tube. Install the heater control fascia last - you'll need to be able to maneuver the heater controls to get the cables to seat properly.

Have fun!

To amplify, the face plate doesn't attach directly to the control unit. The control unit has two screws that attach to the center console to hold it in place, then the face plate attaches as Slam described. The pieces each attach independently to the console, but not to each other. HTH.

Thanks for the replies. I must be missing some kind of bracket on my console to attach the lever contraption. Would you happen to have a picture of it?

Tiramisu you need the 3 little plastic levers that you see in the pic, once the face is install they just slide in there.

Hi Ernie. I have the plastic levers but apparently I am missing some kind of bracket to actually attach the lever contraption to the console itself.
