Sweet!

It would be very nice indeed if Porsche re introduced the 928. With the tech from VW and all the FI advancements it could be UBER sweet. The v6 VW engine (think GTI) is an incredible mill. Is the V8 they speak of related? or is it a different block? Not sure if Porsche NEEDS to put in greater than 350 or so HP, other than to secure the "more is better" car buyer (hey, they are out there) You might want to X post this to the 928 folks. I am sure they will have something to say about it.

Sidney J,

Nah,
The Pelican Off Topic forum is getting predictable.

You have to explain to me ----very slowly and simply, why the 928 board would not want to know about a possible 2012?

Keep it safe in OK!

I thought we were talking about the car in the original post... The 928 boys would bash that all day long... and I really bet there will be more than a few that aren't real receptive to the new 928....

What I am patiently waiting for is the re-introduction of the 377hp 968 turbo, which never made it into production (there are only 15 of them in existence today). They canned it because, performance wise, it was enchroaching way too far into higher-line (more expensive) 911 territory. If it never comes out, I will stick with 951S's for the rest of my life.

In my eyes, it was the best sports car never built. But a "worked" 951S plays a pretty good second fiddle to it.

No John don't want a Panamera I want this Spyder 918 but since I believe they will be a little costly what I'm planning to do is knock the # 6 from my 968 & replace it by a 1.

After Ernie gets the motor (Pfooey) I want the brakes and rims from the new 928.

Does one think that Porsche will re-name it a 928, after all it has been out of production for many years - - Maybe name it the 938 as a new generation of the 928...and there I go again, thinking.
