You might have the more powerful m44/01 motor. Higher compression ratio.

You should find a tab with the engine code and serial # at the rear end of the block. Visible when standing on the passenger side.

USA and ROW cars

Hi ,you will more than likely have the higher compression motor less the cat convertor which amounts to 163hp as opposed to 150 hp for the USA model, there may be a different ecu but that is generally hard to pinpoint.
Yes ,the car will be lighter due to non crash bumpers and air conditioning being less of an option in Europe, depends on your car, there may be other things also.
Cars appeared to vary alot in how they were supplied in those models ,my ROW car has this but not that if you know what I mean.

This thread has started to make me wonder.

I know there are significant differences between USA and ROW cars, such as the difference in HP, emissions, glass, etc. But what I am wondering is, besides the more extensive variations in the options packages, are there such differences between the ROW cars themselves, due to all of the different destinations in the ROW? Or is the ROW basically all the same, with the USA being the only "odd", or "different", country in the "W"?
