Engine Drop - Remove Intake/T.B. First?
Seems to me like it would make great sense to go ahead and remove the intake manifold and throttle body prior to dropping the engine...as this would give access to detach the various sensor wires and vacuum lines that are attached under the intake stuff. To me it makes more sense to do it this way than try to snake these wires/lines out of the engine compartment - at least where possible.
I've gotten my main DME connector up through the firewall, but as I follow the DME bundle - I see that it branches in two directions: under the intake and to a junction next to the fuse box. I've unplugged this branch at the junction, but in terms of snaking this back so it can go out with the engine - I'd so much rather detach this at the engine points, and it looks like I could do this if I took off the intake stuff first. Any comments? Thanks! |

The engine harness can just tuck right in there when you drop the whole thing. Need to make sure the 14 pin, grounds and starter wires are all disconnected too. Removing the intake, head etc. make it easier to slide out if you are doing it onthe ground too.
