Heater core deletion?

Does anyone have proper instructions on deleting heater core. Trying to shave weight off car and I'm kinda stuck with this one. Does the heater core need to be re-routed?

thanks, leo

just re route the line that comes from the heater pipe (metal one) to in rear intake on the head where it returns and scrap the rest. it doesnt neccasarily have to be rerouted but it would help considerably in warming the car up to operating temp faster. and if it ever seems to make it run warmer just pull the line and plug it

You can plug the hole in the water pump and the head outlet pipe. I can take a pic for you if you like

I deleted all the climate control in my race car. Simply ran a hose from the outlet pipe on the rear of the head to the hard pipe that runs over the exhaust manifolds.

Another way to skin the same cat

That's just a plug in the water pump, taped with threads. The stem on the back of the head was cut off and welded shut. These are a littl emore work but might be less prone to leaking since there's no rubber/clamps.

I've also plugged the small hose from the water pump with a spare cam housing plug and a small hose clamp.
