1990 s2 Cab without cold air
Recently the A/C stopped blowing cold air on my 1990 s2 Cab. The compressor is kicking on and off but tepid air (not hot) is coming out of the vents. Any suggestions as to where I could look before taking it in

Is there still refrigerant in there? I'd check that first.

I thought of that but was hoping it could be quick fix in the garage. On a side note I just had the head removed for some work Is there anything that had to be disconnected or could have been damaged on the heater valve during the process.
Thanks, |

Did you look at the site glass on the A/C drier while the A/C is running? It should be clear. If it is a milky white color, then you need more refrigerant.

Well, it could be that your heater control valve is no longer hooked up correctly, blowing hot air in the mix with the A/C's cold air. I would look for the vacuum hose being disconnected up near the front of the head on the exhaust side of your engine.
Look at the sight glass as well when the A/C is running to check your refrigerant level as well. Good luck, Keith

Checked the refrigerant and the eye glass was cloudy so I will get it refilled.
Thanks On another note I noticed a 3 prong connector located behind the dist cap is broken exposing wires. They are in yact but exposed. What is this connector for? Thanks again, Waxman |
