wiring guide missing sections

I've been searching here and on the net for the past three or four days for the missing sections of the wiring guide, as well has have sent a couple pm's to one of the forum members that mentioned they have some "missing sections" of the guide, but haven't got a reply..

What I'm looking for is the missing section that looks like it should be between Part 2 Page 1 and Part 2 Page 2 of the early 944 1984 wiring guide.

Part 2 Page 1 shows the words "fog light relay" for early 84 on the right hand side and Part 2 Page 2 shows "fog light switch" but doesn't show the wiring schematic for the fog light relay.

Part 2 page 1 also shows a red 1.5mm wire from fuse box plug H that goes about halfway down the page then turns right and disapears, the guide doesn't show what it's connected to from there and it's missing from part 2 page 2..

According to the wire guide, my fogs should get power from fuse box plug G terminal 6, via a two wire connector consisting of "white/yellow 1,0mm" and "white/yellow 1,0mm"

My fogs are not hooked to these wires.. What I found was "scary" a power wire leading from somewhere near the hvac box in the center console via a twist on wire nut, out the firewall, all the way up to the fogs in series, no wire looming, and the wire was twisted around random parts to keep it in place, the worst part of that is, it was hung over and around the actual moving steering shaft, under the dash.....

I'm also looking for information on how to understand the current track/wire continuation markers where it shows a letter A-Z with a box containing roman numerals and regular numbers.. For example U [IV 6] or C/1 [II]

There's a bunch of them shown near the top of this page

http://www.pelicanparts.com/944/electrical/944_84_5_1.jpg

To me it looks like the markers indicate a wire continuation that is shown by the same letter/number continuation marker, on another page of the guide, this is what I gather, going by the discription in the wiring guide legend..

I was unable to find a match to the markers from one page, on other pages of the guide...

I'm blind, or I'm not understanding the markers correctly..

Any help would be appreciated.. I can post the markers that I can't find matches to, if there is a match, maybe one of you guys can find the page that has the matching continuation marker.

I'm in the process of trouble shooting shorts and relays, and replacing burnt wires..

Have replaced all but a couple burnt wires/contacts/connectors/plugs and have traced down some sources of the burnt wires/relays...

H4's with no remote relay harness. "going out to get the parts to make a remote relay harness..

Failed cooling fan bearing/overloaded cooling fan/ac circuits.
Fixed.

"these cooling fans aren't designed to be rebuilt" But if you are able to use a pop rivit gun and are carefull/skilled enough, you can get them apart and replace the fan side bearings... I can do a write up on this, and keep tabs on the life of the rebuilt fans.. The bearings are like 8-10 dollars each, they are press fit to the shafts, require carefull removal as to not damage the armature or shaft end which could throw off the spindle balance....

New fans cost like 400 dollars.. If the electrical side isn't fried, it's worth the time to repair/replace the bearings, while I was in there I cleaned up the commutator/brushes, dust, checked all the commutator/coil connections with ohmeter, checked the wires in the brush head, spring pressure; the springs could be weakend by heat, the brush head board can be warped by heat, but mine were ok..

Bearing part number skf 608zz or 6082z "lubed for life" 8x22x7 same size as skate board wheel bearings, may even be same abec rating on good skate bearings, but gotta look for the "lubed for life" type.

I got new bearings from an industrial supply shop, based on the part number of the original bearings that I pulled from the fan motor.

A short to ground from main bat + to fuse box, and hood release cable housing that was not routed properly~ got caught up in the clutch pedal linkage...
fixed.

All but one relay socket tab ontop of the fuse box were broken..
fixed.

The broken relay tabs let the relays fall down and a hot wire of a relay socket shorted to the fuse box hanger/chassis ground...
Fixed.

I have removed all the relays and wires from the fuse box, rebuilt the fuse box internally with a couple new pins, pressed and soldered to the bus bars.

Replaced a couple burnt multi-pin connectors at the back of the fuse box and rebuild the fuse box externally..

Replaced the top section of the fuse box with the relay socket tabs with the top section of a vw fusebox via creative dremeling, and some epoxy..

I still need to re-route and re-loom some of the main wireharness that was not routed properly, to do this, I had to pull some relay terminal wires from the relay sockets to free up the harness, so i can re-loom it, route and hang it in the factory wire hangers behind the DME..

It's supposed to go over the steering shaft on a metal wire hanger, but was just zip tied up, between the pedals and steering shaft

Almost done, just need the foglight relay wire schematic, the foglight relay location, and what that plug H red 1,5mm wire goes to that is shown on part 2 page 1, so I can check whatever it's connected to, for issues.

Also, in Part 2 Page 1, "dimmer/headlight flasher switch" is this the steering columb high/low beam switch?

I found some problems there, the retaining screws are all but stripped out, one is missing, they are the long flat head screws on the face of the steering columb that hold the metal plate infront of the "wipers, turns/high/low switch assembly" behind the steering wheel hub..

I need to take this apart and tine sert/helicoil the stripped threads, or drill and tap for larger diameter screws.

on the wiring , the roman numeral refers to the page you need to go to . the number is the line on that page .If you look there ,you will see a box that will have the numbers that take you back to where you started.

Thank you for the reply.

couple of questions; first, page of what, cause I can't find a match on the wiring guide..

second is; you mention "the line"

is that the numbers on the bottom of the schematic for current track number?

See attached image.

OK, I think I got it..

The roman numeral in the box is the "part I, II, III, IV, V, VI etc..." of the current flow diagrams.. pelican wire guide "part 1 " part 2 " part 3" in the marker as roman numeral I II II etc..

The number next to the roman numeral is the current track number at the bottom of the page that the wire contination lines up with/The wire isn't actually connected to the current track number shown in the continuation marker.

At the bottom of the wire diagram page, there is a line with numbers under it "current track numbers", as well as some dividers, with a discription of the section "foglights, headlights" etc..

MWAHAHAH.. Finding more issues with the wiring, guage harness was bare, no looming, wires tangled, mixed between sections of the harness, laying accross the DME brackets.. instead of in the nice insulated wire loom hangers..

some hack job had their way with most of it..

Slowly getting things straightened out, got a couple rolls of friction tape, few more wires to replace..
