Euro bumper finally installed..Looks Good

well after about 3 months of having it and been screwed around by painters for 2 of them my euro bumper graced the streets of Phoenix today....approx. cost of this project..used euro bumper/trim and mounts $180, paint bumper $250, additional lights (driving/fog) $300, new hardware-screws bolts $50, used my own turn signal assemblies, but uses a different lense thankfully came with it, old additonal light were beyond repair..no electric to additional lights yet..next project

Looks great. Where did you find your bumper? Is there two different euro bumpers. One with square bumper pads like yours and one with smaller rectangular bumper pads?

Euro spec stuff always is superior in looks and in function. The 944 bumpers are an example. The HP/TQ specs of the Euro cars is another. The look of 911 bumpers is another (Euro=simple, sleek, elegant, US=big, ugly, clunky). Euro E-code headlamps are another example (vastly superior to US-DOT spec lights).

It's just the way it is. The Euro market gets the good stuff, the U.S. market gets the crap. I like how your car turned out. Very nice job.

wow, that is a first for me! I have never seen a cgt front bumper/valence replicated for a 924 that wasn't also converted to 944 flared guards. I've never seen one that stayed narrow!

My god, you paid more for that bumper than I did for my car. It looks good but almost $800 can go a long way.

Yessum, I did. It had 108k miles on it. not perfect but I havently really done much mechanically to it in the 1 1/2 years I've owned it. My two MG Midgets were $750 for the pair so I have a hard time paying a premium for a bumper alone but some people have that kind of cash, just not me.

VII... Could you please tell the audience how you were able to obtain a running car for 800.00?

You can thank our federal government for the ugly bumpers and inferior headlights, manufacturers only do what they need to meet US requirements.

Please tell me the timing belts were included in your "not really doing much to it mechanically"?

If not I suspect we'll be seeing another 944 being parted out before long.

What part of "owning a Porsche" did you expect to be cheap, exactly?

I bought the car on ebay locally for $1000 but the seller gave me a $200 refund after he needed the stereo for himself. I changed the belts and have put roughly $3000 total into the car with new wheels, roll paint, stereo and lots of other stuff; still lot's to do but so far so good. Probably one of the least expensive drivers on the board.

Where were you able to find a euro bumper for $180?

That looks amazing by the way.

Do the euro bumper lights, included with the driving lights provide enough output to drive safely? I like the idea of running a headlight delete panel but would need extra lighting.
