Porsche Crest 15x7 Fuchs

Found a set of 15x7 early (1983 or 1984) Fuchs on a junk car in real nice shape no corrosion anywhere, just clean and bolt on. Are they worth the $500.00 the guy is asking for? Thinking of replacing my cookies that I am tired of polishing.

Only if you can't convince him to accept less

Seriously, that's not a bad price at all (depending on condition). Make sure they're all straight, no bends (check the back side lips).

there are fake fuchs out there, make sure they are the real deal before you pay 5 bills for them.
If they are fake, i wouldn't pay more than $400 - if they are real, that's a great price
but then again, if you love the style, & don't care if they are knock off fuchs, then they are worth whatever you are willing to pay

$500 for the whole car, or just the wheels?
I see whole cars for that much with Fuchs all the time in my area.

Are they all 7 inch? I've always seen them having 8" in rear.

I bought my 85.5 944 with 15x7 and 15x8 Fuch's already installed and didn't know much about the manufacturer prior to this car purchase. There is a lot of interesting history behind these Fuchs with a quick google search... I saw a very nice authentic set on ebay a few months ago that ultimately sold for $1136 for a set of 4...

Also ran across this 3 year old discussion on potential prices:
What are 15x7 and 15x8 Fuchs wheels worth? - Rennlist Discussion Forums

These wheels are a nice change from the ordinary and allows me to run 225/50 series tires on the rear with lots of room to spare...

Be careful of reproductions.... lots out there.

For a while, Fuchs in 7 and 8 x 15 value was driven by those pesky 911 owners building RS clones and wanting those sizes. Some of the value has been lost since that spike demand because of 1) early 911 guys looking for wheels of the correct build year and 2) limited tire availablilty in 15 wheels.

I sold a beautiful set about 6 years ago, for $700. $500 seems like a fair price.

One way to determine if they are the real MCoy or Repro is to look inside the wheel on real Fuchs you'll see a small triangle & also a fox head + plus size -offset ect ect.

Can anybody supply a picture showing the markings on a "Real" Fuch wheel? Or at least describe them? Is the part number casted or stamped on the wheel?

Easy quickie test: feau fuchs usually have a rough backside behind the paddles and are thicker, the real fuchs are usually smooth and thinner....
