Computer Help Please

Sorry for the OT post but this is very important and I need to know right away. How do I save a picture of the whole screen? That can be done right? Please do not move this topic until it is answered, I need to save a pic, for legal issues. Thank you guys!

don't know if a screen shot image would be legally admissible, but anyways, go to zdnet.com, sign up, and then in the download section get "screen thief", whatever version works with your os. there are probably several screen capture utilities, screen thief isn't the only one.

Alt+Print Screen will copy the entire screen to the clipboard. Then you can just paste it into your favorite image editing program and save it. If you don't have any image editors, then plain old Paint will work too.

Stray,

You can also hold down the 'Alt' key and while holding it, press the 'Print Screen' key, it should be above the insert key on your keyboard. After you do this, open MS Word if you have it, if not you can always use Paint. After you've opened the second program, go to edit, then paste.

The reason I recommend using Word is it's easier to save the screen picture as a .doc file and easier to transfer. Saving it using Paint creates a .bmp file and is a bigger file sizewise than the .doc file. Useful to keep in mind of you ever have to email a screen capture.
