How far to turn up the boost controller??

Ok let me list what I have first so that you can give an answer based on my setup maybe.
-Stage II Chip
-Testpipe(does this affect the turbo system? LOL)
-Dual Port Waste Gate
-Manual Boost Controller

My question is about the controller, I duno how far to turn it up to! I turned it ALL THE WAY DOWN, then turned it 5 full turns up, is this to high? because the car pratically TOOK OFF to the point I didn't feel quite coshier LOL.

Is there a method for every turn = X PSI? Or something of that nature as in with the LBE or something? Any knowledge/info/personal experience about this matter would be appreciated, thanks...

Ummm...herrrrr...what boost controller do you have? A manual obviously. Most manual boost controllers I have seen don't turn 180 degrees. Be careful you don't blow your head gasket....you may need a new boost controller (may I suggest an electronic one that monitors boost, like a greddy profec a/b (b is much much more expensive, but much nicer, too) or an apexi unit)...don't crank it over 15 or 16 on a stock head gasket...with a widefire you can go higher (how much higer isn't quite clear...anywhere from 18 to 25 depending on who you talk to)...but...make sure you have the fuel to match. Otherwise, you will end up with a very nice car with a motor requiring a $5000 rebuild job.

Do tests in 4th gear to determine your ultimate boost number. Start low and go to about 2 bar on the boost gauge (14.7 psi). Don't be tempted to go too much higher without a 3 bar fuel pressure regulator. Be careful because if you go too high you WILL blow the headgasket. After the HG goes you will have to put a widefire on. If this has been done before there's a good possibility that the studs are stretched. If they are streched your little experimentation with high boost just turned into a semi-complete rebuild. Be careful.

ok, thanks guys!
Yeah, this motor has been rebuilt (fairly new) with a widefire, but I'm not trying to crank up the boost, I just want it about normal ;-). So as long as I stay just under the bar under the '2' I should be fine right? If you could instant message me at 'craig944t cell' to confirm that I'd be forever greatful.
