If cooling fan does not turn off and you know your ThermoFan switch.........
is not broken, then it has to be the fan relay? If so, then how do I test the relay?
Damn, does the ThermoFan switch have to be powered up to check for continuity?

Relay probably has a schematic on the side or bottom of it. The diagram shows where the continuity should be and when. I generally pry them open and manually work them to see if they do what they should do. There will be some contacts pulled by a magnet. Give it a sniff to see if has a burned smell.
Or, scrounge up one you know works, and plug it in to see what happens. Got a friend with a 944? The one that controls the turbo water pump recently acted up on my car. After fiddling with it, it would work for awhile, then begin messing up again. Eventually bit the bullet and replaced it. No more trouble. The bad one had a slightly "well done" scent. |

How have you been able to confirm that your thermoswitch is not bad?
