Radiator fan queston. Simple

When I drive around, and car gets to full temp. I turn her off, and the radiator fans still run till it gets below the 2nd white then turn off.
Is it normal or do i have a bad thermo switch?

it's probly normal. I havent run a stock thermostat and fan switch in forever..

My low temp t-stat kicks on at the first line and the first fan comes on slightly after 1st line and then both fans at 2nd (reg temp) line. and sometimes the fans do stay on after the car is turned off but i have never payed attention to what line it stays on at.
I thin it's normal even new cars with electric fans stay on if the temp gets up

I'm pretty sure the fans are supposed to run after you turn it off my car does this; as for the operating temp that depends on your driving if your in lots of traffic or highway cruising that I'm not sure of

completely normal to run after shutdown.

remember, the fans run off the thermoswitch in the radiator. completely independent or the coolant temp sw which is in the eng block..two diff temps

do you normally run above the midway mark? If so, that may need investigation.

Jaime is correct. For example, the driver side fan on an early car stays on with the car shut off til the temp of the coolant reaches the trigger point of the thermal switch. Thermal switches come in different temp values so by changing the Tswitch you can make the fan/fans come on earlier or later.

okay this might make me sound stupid, but ive never been sure if this is actually supposed to do this. there is a button one the climate control panel that has the picture of a snowflake on it. i thought (before i had actually drivin or started the car) that it was for airconditioning.

but when i press this snow flake button, it over-rides the fan relay, and gives me control of the cooling fans (unless there already running, in which case if i press the button the fans stay on untill they would regularly turn off, or i press the button again, whichever come last.) is that what its supposed to do, or did a PO rig that?

Normal operation to run the cooling fans while the AC compressor is running.
