Hold my beer, I'm going in.

In Feb of this year I did a full front engine seal, water pump, belts, rollers, hoses, coolant, yada yada yada. I guess I did not go far enough. I only did the front seals and did not actually pull the nose cones of the balance shafts. My lower one is puking oil.

The car is up on the rack, belts exposed, flywheel locked, and I am going in. Wish me luck.

Crap.

Well, I am done. Seal replacements went really well. Took me about 5 hours.

It's the freaking oil cooler that is leaking. Fired her up and drip, drip, drip, drip.....

AAAAARRRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHH

Anyone know for sure which oil pressure alignment tool an 87 NA takes?

I found one at Paragon products. It is on order, I will update this thread next week when I do the cooler.

It looks like I can do it without pulling the headers (MSDS). Hopefully this is true as I do not want that pain in the butt.

I'm running out of things to seal on this motor, this better be it. I want it to cross over 200,000 with dignity at over 100mph, not on a trailer.

Had to unbolt my headers and pull them back to do my cooler, didn't remove them, just moved them for a little more working room

It might also be your oil pressure sending unit. They're very delicate and most people end up over tightening them especially when putting the wire contacts back on.

Just yesterday I restarted my car after spending almost two months rebuilding the top end and it was leaking oil like crazy. Luckily I had a spare one that I put in and now it's fine.

Just thought I'd throw it out there considering I just had my second one this week go on me.

I appreciate it and I was really hoping it was the sending unit, or one of the crush washers on the bypass valve, etc.

Parts are here and it goes back on the lift today to fix.

I want this car to cross over 200k miles with dignity, at over 100mph, not sitting in the garage bleeding. (sitting at 192k now)
