Unhappy HELP! Squeezing door handle but door won't open!

Help!!!! Last night my car's door handle broke! When the car is unlocked the driver's side doorlock won't open the door! it will only open from the inside. Is there a spring or something that broke on it and can be replaced without buying a new door handle??? or what broke on it?????????????

Hi go to the dealer and get the plastic piece that goes on the door handle it is white and has 2 ball end sockets on it then remove the door panel and replace this piece you will see it .it is on the door handle mechanisim, now is the time to adjust the linkage and lubricate, also if the door plastic seal is toast go to the dollar store and buy a 1.00 shower curtain and some box tape, reseal the door with the plastic and tape B 4 you put the door panel back on, (this makes the door sound like it is rock solid) and stops air leaks at speed.....Also there is some adjustment in the door handle if you look at the rear of the door jamb when its open you will see a screw this is for attaching the door handle sometimes this screw can be loosened and the handle moved up or down to get the door to open properly without taking the door panel off......Stan

Stan is right on, but first if when you squeeze the handle and it DOES FEEL like something is happening; get a can of WD-40 and put the tube in the handle where the lever is and spray......
Then remove the screw that secures the handle and stick the tube in the hole and spray........ refit the screw.
If the linkage has rusted up or is dirty that will clean it.
This is something you should do frequently; Wurth HHS 2000 is a better lube for the job, but WD-40 will get it working.

Not to encourage street racing or anything, but bring your camera and post some pics of the action.
