Replaced air flow meter..still missing

Well I replaced my air flow meter with a good used one today,I still have a slight hesitation around 3k rpm and under low rpm acceleration ,and a miss at idle,I'm starting to think it is my TPS sensor,or AAV any ideas? It does it hot or cold out and with the engine warmed up or not,all the time 83' 944 Thanks!

I do not know what else you replaced, but cap rotor wires and plugs should all be checked. Also could be a clogged injector or slight vacuume leak.

Espically check the injectors. Listen to each one with a mechanics stethiscope if you have a failing injector you will hear the miss in the injector. I just went through all this on my 87. Four new injectors later and a new battery and now my miss is gone.

Hi Justin, hey if your ignition system is over 5yrs old replace the wires, cap and rotor, also replace the spark plugs and take a compression test, make shure there are no vacuum leaks replace all of the tri unions and very carfully look at the hard plastic lines for cracks.
As far as the injectors go try using a bottle or two of the Techron fuel injection cleaner in the gas tank, you might try only filling the tank half way and use 1 bottle, after using this cleaner make shure you change the oil it will rinse more deposits into your engine, ..............Stan

Hey Stan,
I use Techron all the time, as a matter of fact I just put a bottle in about 1 hr. ago. My cap, rotor and wires were replaced about 6 months ago, I am starting to think it is the TPS sensor or the AAV. Runs very well going down the road, has all the power I need, but when I get to about 3k rpm at a modarate speed, about half throttle, it has a stuttering hesitation and don't want to go,untill I push on the gas more, then it push's through the bad spot. High rpm is perfect. Like I said before it misses at idle also, and the rpm moves up and down about 2-3 hundred rpm's unconsistantly. Make any sense? This all started when I sprayed the throttle body and air flow meter out with air intake cleaner. Thats why I changed the air meter,I thought I had fried it,maybe the TPS sensor got some cleaner in it. Any ideas?

Ahh with more info yes it sounds like your heading in the right direction, afm or TPS, now you said you put in a newer AFM well its time to replace the TPS switch........
Also have a look at the speed sensors, remove and clean them if that has not been done.......Stan

TPS is a idle/full throttle switch on an NA. Has absolutely nothing to do with part throttle on your car. Sounds like you're running lean - try checking the fuel pressure and the DME relay. Maybe also the pickups as mentioned above.
