Went out for a drive after work today since it was so nice. I got flashes from 3 944's. 1st once was a silver by my marina. Then I went up along the mountail roads and passed a gray one coming arounf the other way as fast as I was. Quick flash! Then I was about a mile from the house and saw a nice black one. What a crazy day. 3 944's in less than an hour. Fantastic.

It was dark outside when I went outside to my broken 944, I had my son pop up the lights. The flash of those lights as they turned up, made me remember why I love this car.

2 flashes today... a sunny Puget Sound day.
930, black, passing head to head at exit 6, I405, quick hand wave and one in return. 928, grey (1984), in driveway off Edmonds, Renton, WA. Stopped to admire and compare notes. Gave him a PCA membership query card. Hope he joins; we could use another "shark" here. Have a good drive, all. macreel |

Today leaving Pukekohe raceway, just watched my dads last race in his '78 911SC 3L (Won by 7 sec's!!! Changing gear by spanner!!) and as drove thru gate to leave a mint looking pre 85.5 944 drove up to enter. Waves were exchanged, and my mate (has '83 944 and '82 928S 5-spd) commented how he luved how most porsche owners do that.

Roanoke, VA...at Advance Auto picking up cleaning supplies, a 69 912 pulled up, dark green, older guy driving. Great attitude on the dude and walked out with me and checked out my car. No snobby attitude or anything. Great to see guys like that.

Mt. Holly NJ. I was behind a white Boxter for about 10 miles. He kept looking back at me but never waved.
Overkill, where are you at in NJ? There are tons of 944 in this area (Burlington County). When I first moved out here I hardly ever saw them, but in the last few months they seem to be springing up everywhere. Now I wish I still had my 914, I never see any of them around here.

I had an odd flash just the other day.....
I got a flash from a guy in a 240sx. It was red, like my 944. Do you think he thought I was another 240sx (as they look like the 944)? - I doubt this, cause I don't think the 240sx crowd does the flash thing. Perhaps he really wanted a 944 in the first place, but got the "copy" car instead, and now is trying to still be part of the 944 crowd???? I dunno - it was kinda odd, it caught me off guard - I didn't wave cause it happened so fast and I wasn't expecting it. He probably thinks I'm a stuck-up Porsche guy now!! 944S Boyeee |

Z-man.. good list here, you betcha.
Here's another: young lady, mother of 2 (boys), out to the store in her brown 944, (no kids along). Saw her in the 'hood; gave her a PCA info query card. She & her hubby (& eventually the boys) could enjoy PCA. Keep flashing. m'reel |

Santa Monica FWY
405 S 7:30 ish pm. Sept. 23 Comming home from work, Dude in a nice red 944 with some goldish wire spoke type rims in the hammer lane. I pull up next to, toss a peace sign in his direction. It bounces off his windshield & he tosses a "wazzup" and we'll log it a flash. BTW, If you see a Drill rig with C & C Drilling on the mast or door waving at your 944, it could be me. I have one of 3 rigs.

New Flash.
Wednesday. September 25. 2002.
Covina, California. Red 951. Driver was a male maybe somewhere in his mid 40's. I was on my way to school. A light before the next one I needed to make a turn, I noticed a 951 in back of me. Next light I pull to the left lane, he's pulling in next to me, I look at him and smile and he smiles back. Good enough. He had a nice paint job on his car. RBT. |

About time to ressurect this thread again!
Tuesday, November 3rd. Burgandy 944/might have been 951 Waiting to turn into traffic, I hear a quick double honk all of a sudden and a car passes by me pretty quick, going the opposite way. I was looking in the other direction, looking for a break in the traffic so I could ease onto the road, I did not even see this car coming. It was at night, so I could not see much. Anyway, I turn my head around quick when I hear the honk, and see a burgandy 944 speeding away. It was definately a 944- could tell by the engine noise and tail light pattern. Not sure if it was a turbo or not, I only saw the back end of it very breifly- and it was dark. I honked back but they probably did not hear me. Anyway, it was my first flash in quite a while, and it managed to cheer me up after a crappy day of classes. On an opposite note, I got cut off in traffic today at a stop sign by some doofus in a 996 cabrio, talking on his cell phone and not bothering to use his turn signal. I braked hard to avoid hitting him, and the guy glares at me as if I'm at fault .

I have one!!!
Car - Black 944 Turbo Place - Bicentennial Highway - Nova Scotia Flash - he waved and I waved back This was the FIRST time anyone has ever waved at me. I have flashed and waved a few times, but have never been the recipient of a wave. It's soooooooo cool!! It does hurt that there is only one other 944 in my town and the local PCA chapter has like 5 members. Not a lot o' Porsches around my home. I live in Sackville, which is a sleeper town outside Halifax (our "big" city). The town next to Sackville is called Bedford. It has been recognized by some Financial magazine (Worth, I think) as having the most income per capita in North America. The town is tiny, but EVERY house is worth at least $400,000. That is where all the Porsches in Nova Scotia are.....and the Ferrari's and Lambo's and Rolls Royce's. oh - and by the way - Halifax has the most bars per capita of anywhere in North America also. We have basically like 4 streets that are nothing but bars. There are no bars "on the outskirts" - all bars are within walking distance of each other. The only cabs people take here are to go home or to get downtown. Even Burbon Street pales in comparison. Great "pub crawl" city. ....needs more 944's though 944S Boyeee |

A girl from my school has an 86 N/A that we've talked about trading her car + 4-5000 for my Jetta. I drove it the other day and was a little embarassed (oxidized paint, needs wax; dirty; big ugly bra on the front.) I'll get to the point, I saw I a Eminem look alike in a early 944 with huge ugly rims and a golf type hat hanging from the rear-view mirror I flashed the lights(they don't go down, linkage didn't get lubed) he gave me the meanest 8 mile look I've ever seen. Somebody save that car from that idiot, go timing belt go.
