I've got a 1984 944. The problem I am having is the a/c will not turn on. The heater switch works for the blower and the heat works just fine but when i try to turn on the a/c you can heat a click and it seems like its not turning on the blower motor. Any help would be good.

Hi Nodmad & welcome,
I can offer a couple of suggestions. The real AC pros are in the shop working 10-12 hour days now. OK. How long have you owned the car? Was it working last season? Have you had the AC converted to R134a or are you on OEM R12? The simple answer could be it is low on freon and needs a recharge. The AC will not come on if there is low pressure in the system. Give us an idea of your skill level with tools and repairs. GL John

You have 2 fan motors. One for the evaporator and one for the heater and or fresh air. The one on the passenger side is for the a/c. The click could be the a/c relay, or the compressor, etc... We need some more info.

I had some trouble with the cooling fans when i got the car. The a/c has not kicked on since i have had the car. It has not been switched to R134a yet. I know a lot about how to fix engines but never really focused on a/c problems. I have found the low pressure side and i checked for bubbles where the glass is like my repair manual said but I'm not seeing any. I have also tried to see if the blower would at least function but there is only a click that i can hear when i try to turn on the a/c
