Starting Issue, Has Power but No Start, what to do?

Hi;

I'm hoping this issue already has a solution someone can point me too ...

86 944, NA. Recently seems to have developed a starting issue. When I turn the key, the dash lights up, radio works, so main power seems ok. However the engine does not crank/start. There is no clicking sounds, or anything other than silence from the engine bay.

After a couple tries with the key from Off to Start, it will eventually kick over and start. If I then turn it off again, I go through this process again. Once it is running, no problem, and drivable.

Other notes to add: Just prior to this issue, I had already driven the car for a week of back-and-forth to work, and it had started fine. After sitting for 2 days (just parked for the weekend), I started having this issue, and now it continues. All plugs, and spark plug wires were replaced 2 weeks prior, as well as new Distributor cap and rotor.

So where do I start? DME? Solinoid? Starter? I would think the Alternator and Battery are ok (?). Are there electrical tests I can do?

Any advice, and Thanks!!

First I'd check your connections for corrosion, check the starter terminals, battery terminals, engine to chassis ground, etc.

After that, listen if you can hear any noise from the starter whatsoever.
