Wheel/lug nut lock, have keys, missing tool.

SO I have the locking lug nuts on my car, but I realized today while working on the car that I do not have the tool that goes in the lug after you get the lock off. This might be problematic next time I need to get the wheels off :-)

Anyone have a picture of what that tool looks like, and/or a source to get it without buying the whole set?

There is no tool. Once the locks are off there are standard lugs underneath if these are stock locks.

Maybe I don't have stock locks, here are some pictures:

They all have little plastic covers that snap over the key holes.

I had to drill mine out. The cover came off exposing a normal lug. Maybe you need to remove the round cover.

well I know I had some key lug nuts on my old car and I had no key, so I just used a pair of vise grips to get it off. but that's probably just if your not ever gonna use it again.

I appreciate all of the help, I figured it out. The lock is actually broken on the one wheel I was trying. I sent back out to the garage and all of the other locks pull the round lug cover off after unlocking, just as fwayfarer said.

The lock core is apparently not supposed to come out so now I need to figure out how to get one broken one off.

i will hijack the thread - but not far of the main subject.
inside the lock housing there is a round seal that keeps the lock tight around the lug nut. it is not actually a simple oring but rather flat one. does anybody know if there is a place to buy spare ones? mine disintegrated

Hook a flat blade screwdriver on the lip at the top of the lug cover (into the groove when the plastic cover snaps) and gently lift the cover up...or grab just the tip of the cover with some pliers...they come off easily. And if you don't mangle the cover, you can reinsert the lock tumbler and continue to use the wheel lock.

Yeah, that round sleeve should come right off. A little spray of nut buster lube should free it up if it is stuck. Then tap it with a mallet to shock it and pull it off with needle nose plyers or a small screw driver under the open ring to get it started. I chucked all mine when I changed to Cayman wheels and spent the extra $70 for some really good locks.

I hate locking lug nuts. Keep your car insured. If someone really wants your wheels, they're gonna take them anyways.

I used a hole saw to get mine out like someone on here said. Wrecked the stud, but that thing worked miracles.
