I have an odd problem

while I was on the highway I had my low beams on. The beam of light from the right headlight was randomly moving up and down; for ex. it will point low at the ground and then high up and point directy on the car in front of me. Any ideas? Thanks

Pat

Sounds like something has loosened. Turn on headlights with car stopped and try to move the light with your hands.

Easy fix. It sounds like your headlight direction adjustment screws. These are probably just loose, or one fell out altogether. Nothing a philips head and 10 minutes couldn't solve.

Porsche Crest

Also there is a plastic plug that the headlight ring is attached to at the bottom, sort of an expansion type unit that will only stay in while there is a screw in it,and it is screwed in. If the lights loose to begin with, that's probably it. The adjustment screws only work if the clamping ring is fastened solid to the bucket. I just changed my headlights to the Euro-style Hella's with super bright PIAA 60 watt bulbs and guess what... the little square plastic plug pulled out while putting back the black cover so it was screwed into nothin and did the same as your right eyeball. P.S. do not drop the plug down in the area under the light unless you have a wife/girlfriend/or next door neighbors kid with a size minus 0000.40+arm and wrist, for fetchin'.Luck, Jim H

Just wondering if you have the headlights with replaceable bulbs. Could the bulb be loose in the headlight and be moving around?

Let us know what you find
