924s to part out or not to part out.... that is the question
unfortunately it is time for my 924s to leave me. I simply do not have the time, or garage space for it any more. So here is my question. I have 2 options, sell the car i may be able to get around 1500 for it. Or part the car out and sell all the individual pieces. Has any one done thins and know how around how much can be made if I part it out?
What is a fair price for the engine alone? Here is the shape of the car I am the 4th owner. It did not run when it came to me, the DME/ECU was toast and had to be rebuilt. mechanically it has always run good. the electrics have been hacked by previous owners but are all functional. Odometer is dead but i would say there is around 170K miles on the car. Transmission is good, shifts well, never had any issues with it. It has 4 new tires on the rims, i will sell those all as a set. All the systems minus the AC work fine. As far as i know the car was never in an accident, there was some front quarter panel damage on the car when i got it, I pulled the panel of and found no damage beneath, I also taped all the dents out. If some one wants to buy the car PM me, I will not start parting it out for at least a month or two. Thanks Dave

You will have a genuinely hard time getting $1500 parting a 924S.
The only 2 things that are desirable are the Hi CR engine and the short fifth transaxle. If it has an LSD, M030, or a sunroof delete that obviously changes the game. The only things you should plan on selling are the engine and the trans; $600-1000 and $200-500 respectively. I mean lets just face it; very few people are buying early 944 stuff and the prices are really low. The late 944s have so many more goodies that are worth a better chunk of the value of the car. My vote is let it live ![]() If it weren't for the bad parts market we wouldn't have any early 944s or 924Ss left. Jackson |

Hatch, brakes, interior, aluminum trailing arms are all desirable for the 924 2.0 crowd. Gearbox is desirable for the track crowd. $1500 should not be difficult.
Or, you could cage it and race it. . .
