1.) LS engines are far from *****ty
2.) The carb would probably stick out of the hood.

A 302 is heavy enough to grant you terminal understeer.

Running aluminum heads and moving the battery backward would help. I am not sure I would say "terminal under steer"

Are you suggesting a 302 is significantly heavier than a SBC or LT1?

The distributor is usually in the wrong place to clear the hood.

Otherwise, you'd have to build your own kit using the same basic principles used in a SBC swap.

Bellhousing + TT adapter + custom motor mounts + custom headers.

With a Cowl Induction type hood will close over the carb and distributor on the Ford motor.

An Alloy LS1 Chevy motor is 30 pounds heaver than a 2,5L 944 motor. A cast iron block motor with aluminum heads, Chevy or Ford is 160 + pounds heaver than a 2.5L 944 Motor - thus to much weight in the front for true balance (and never mind using cast iron heads also).

I've been working on an EFI 5.0 install and I can tell you you'll need a pretty short distributor to clear the hood. I'm going with DIS so I can run the throttle body out the front like on an LSx and will be running a box upper intake. I can't see how a carb would fit under the stock hood, either.

The torque tube adapter is pretty simple if you use a bell housing out of a '70 Mustang with a C4 and a slave cylinder from a 2011 Mustang GT500.

You won't find a kit for it anywhere because the LSx is so popular. Most people would argue the LSx is the tool for the job, but I figure it's my car and my money so I'll install the engine I want to use.
