another no starter..after wp and belts

car ran fine,..after new wp and belts and rollers...not starting,...I set top dead center, did fly wheel lock ...marked everything then R&R wp and belts ,..
I didnt hook up cooling system or Altenator....I just wanted to check starting and which it did NOT...I did have intake system installed...but it just belched and *****ed but didnt start......what did I miss..?????

yes......It did finally start...but it wont hold an idel now, I connected the cooling system and Alt. batt is kinda dead,,,it will now rev up and stay aslong as I hold the peddel...but around 1K rpm she fades quick and stalls..????

yes, Pops its pluged in,...I may be a 1/2 tooth off on the timing,...but it should still hold the idel,...I do have to work the throttle to get it to rev up and it holds but if I let off it dies..???

Have the plug wires hooked up correctly? Mixing up the order can allow starting but realy rough idle/stalling.

Yes all plugs are good...it starts and runs ok only if I work the gas peddle,franticly...????

i am betting this is an early 944. you forgot the huge vacuum hose on the bottom of the intake manifold.

if it is a later 944, the problem is still a LARGE vacuum leak.

OK...I shall look around..its a 86' N/A I did not remove the intake....but I sure could have a cracked hose they are all pretty stiff.....I did also have a week battery which I had dropped off for a solid charge ??? Thanks Frank

an '86.... there are some pretty big vacuum hoses on those, too.
